Cityblock: Fighting on the frontlines of COVID-19

We’re delighted to announce our continued investment in Cityblock, a tech-driven health provider, as part of a $53.5M Series B+ funding led by Kinnevik.

Cityblock’s mission to address the root causes of issues and to improve community health is more relevant and important than ever. Through the chaos and the uncertainty of the pandemic, we’ve seen the Cityblock team adapt quickly and come together to serve lower-income communities disproportionately affected by COVID-19.

Almost overnight, Cityblock was able to shift its care delivery through virtual offerings via telephone, video, SMS, and its 24/7 Virtual Hub. To supplement its virtual care, Cityblock also launched a Community Rapid Response program where paramedics are on the ground addressing chronic wounds, checking vital signs, and evaluating and managing urgent needs, all in the safety and comfort of members’ homes.

Since our first investment back in 2018, we have believed in Cityblock’s mission to care for those who are most vulnerable by rebuilding trust and helping eliminate healthcare disparities.
