Welcome to our newest Senior Associate, Jéssica Leão!

We are so excited to welcome Jéssica Leão to the Maverick Ventures team.

Jéssica first joined us as an intern last summer, where she was an instrumental player in sourcing projects and working on multiple deals simultaneously, and we are thrilled to have her join us full time.

Jéssica has a deep background in tech with experience as both an operator and investor. Her experience includes investing in pre-seed and seed businesses as Managing Partner at Dorm Room Fund, a student-run VC fund backed by First Round Capital, as well as Founder and General Partner at The 21 Fund, a $2M seed fund building and investing in the next generation of Stanford Graduate School of Business startups. As an operator, her passion for technology & healthcare deepened while working for Palantir in product strategy and business development when the company was preparing to make its public debut.

Originally from Salvador, Brazil, Jéssica moved to the U.S. to attend Yale University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in American Studies & Technology. She also holds an MBA from Stanford University, having graduated in June 2021. In addition to her MBA, Jessica also earned a Certificate in Public Management and Social Innovation from Stanford GSB for her work and studies in social entrepreneurship.
